Eye Shadows & Swatches:
ROW 1 - Blue Bus (bright blue w/ purple shimmer), Gunmetal (dark metallic silver w/silver sparkle), Cobra (sooty black w/golden shimmer), Baked (shimmering bright copper)
ROW 2 - Bender (shimmering dark mossy green), Gravity (deep vibrant purple w/ multi-dimensional glitter), Lost (shimmering dark brown), Hijack (greyish green w/blue and green shimmer)
ROW 3 - Midnight Cowgirl (shimmering gold w/gold sparkle), Sin (shimmering champagne), Midnight Rodeo (metallic medium brown w/silver and gold glitter), Crystal (light silvery blue w/multi-dimensional shimmer)
ROW 4 - Bust (taupe brown w/subtle gray shimmer), Missionary (light taupe w/pink shimmer), Skimp (shimmering ultra-light nude), Zephyr (shimmering off-white)
Almost all of the shades are buttery smooth and nicely pigmented. I thought that Cobra and Gravity weren't the easiest to swatch, and may look nicer when used wet. Crystal is gorgeous, but not very pigmented. Other than that, I was extremely pleased with the selection.
I'm a little surprised to see a Book of Shadows 4 this year, since the 15th Anniversary Palette was just released not that long ago. It's a lot to digest for UD junkies that want to collect it all! What is different and awesome about this particular palette is that it comes with a FULL SIZE Waterproof Liner, that alone retails for $18. The value for everything that you get is really a great deal.
Personally, I was drawn to this particular palette to play with shades like Blue Bus, Crystal, Hijack, and Cobra. Once I'm able to do a few looks with these, I'll be able to comment on how they wear on the eye and how easy they are to apply. I plan to do several looks over the next week or two using each of the shadows at least once, and from there I can comment further. I also LOVE the packaging (I know, sucker!) because I adore butterflies.
I don't own a smartphone, and I guess that makes me technologically challenged... so all of those features are lost on me... but my sister in law has one, so perhaps I'll play around a bit with hers, just to see what they have on there.
In my time as a blogger, I've also reviewed a few other popular palettes from Urban Decay:
~ 15th Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection
~ Book of Shadows III
~ Alice in Wonderland BOS
~ Naked Palette (unfortunately I never swatched this... weird! But there are pics!)
The Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV retails for $64 and can be purchased at UrbanDecay.com, Sephora, and Ulta. It is Limited Edition.

I'm kind of bummed. I don't NEED this one! I don't even feel like I do. Oh well, more money saved! Thanks for the great pics! :)
have tried scanning the codes they led me to youtube videos :) lovely shades.. wonder when i can have my first UD. ;0 dream on
Thanks for the swatches. i was debating picking up this palette but I think I will now
I thought I was the last one without a smart phone ;) but glad to know I am still in the league with some really cool people! Talking about being way behind: I just got my very first UD palettes, the 10th anniversary palette & the vegan palette (sale!), an they are so pretty. Although I'm afraid my eyes are getting a bit too old for all the shimmer and glimmer. But so so pretty... Have fun playing, looking forward to your looks!
I like this palette and I think it's going on my wish list. My birthday is coming!
