MAC Dark As Night Pro Longwear Lipglass Swatches and Review - Styledriven

Releasing in September 2011, and as part of the Styledriven Collection, MAC is showing us a new advancement in Lipglass. The Pro Longwear Lipglass. Today, I'm going to share the darkest shade, Dark As Night, with you and talk a little bit about the new formula.

Dark As Night (deep dirty purple with slight pearl) is a very vampy, blackberry shade of purple. I thought this formula was a bit stickier than a regular lipglass and it didn't coat particularly well. It was extremely difficult and time consuming to apply evenly and the lip swatch above was actually my best effort (eep) =\

There is a new applicator with this product, so that may be why it isn't applying so evenly, but I didn't really think the applicator was the problem, but more-so the formula. Dark As Night is the darkest color from the Pro Longwear Lipglass collection, so it may be that the lighter shades go on, or appear to go on a bit more evenly.

Another pretty sad point is that there is significantly less product in the Pro Longwear Lipglass than in a regular MAC Lipglass. The Pro Longwear Lipglass carries 1.92g of product (and is $4 more expensive) whereas a regular MAC Lipglass has a whopping 4.8g of product. To be honest, I wouldn't even mind if the Pro Longwear coated easily and evenly, since it's lasting power is longer than that of a regular Lipglass.
