MAC Ultra Darling Sheen Supreme Lipstick

The MAC Sheen Supreme lipsticks launched a few weeks ago. From what I can tell, they are NOT limited edition and apparently replace the slimshines. I find them to be extremely similar to slimshines in their feel and texture.

They are definately thicker, and I think people with thinner lips will have a hard time applying these without the help of a lip brush. Personally, I like the thickness much better because I always used to have a problem with the Slimshines bending or even breaking because the lipstick was so slim. The thicker...the more durable!

What I like about these lipsticks is that you don't need a gloss with them, and they're not sticky at all. I find the packaging to be sleek and practical.

I purchased one of these lipsticks for myself (which I haven't reviewed yet) and then had Ultra Darling (mid-tone yellow pink) sent to me by my friend Lindsay out in California as a little pick me up for when my dog died. It was totally unexpected and definately made me smile. Thank you, Lindsay!

**top swatch was one pass with the lippie, bottom swatch was 3 layers of the lippie

The MAC Sheen Supreme Lipsticks are $14.50 (just the same as a regular lippie) though the regular lipsticks only have 3g of product, where as the Sheen Supremes carry 3.6g of product.

I also used MAC Ultra Darling Sheen Supreme Lipstick in this FOTD.

I'm SO excited about this look. I wore this on Saturday to a Cancer Benefit dinner and got a ton of compliments. No one believed me when I said it was from Wet N Wild!! It lasted ALL night long, and I was totally sweaty and gross (nice visual, right?!) from tearing up the dance floor all night with my friends and family!

For This Look I Used:
~ MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer NW25
~ MAC Studio Moisture Tint SPF15 - Medium
~ Lancome Dual Finish Powder Matte Bisque II

~ MAC False Lashes Mascara

and...
for giggles....
My friend Tanya (left) and I at the benefit:

China Glaze Tronica - Electric Magenta

This is the final polish I own from the China Glaze Tronica Collection. Electric Magenta is really beautiful. It applied well, though for some reason the wear wasn't as good as the other Tronica's that I reviewed. Weird, because the only thing different I did was go out to that benefit dinner and auction.

3 coats of Electric Magenta with a Seche Vite FDTC & Orly Top 2 Bottom Base Coat:

OPI Glam Slam! Press Release

Serena Williams Serves Up Four New Shades for OPI Glam Slam! Collection

OPI captures Serena Williams’ winning spirit with four additions to the Glam Slam! collection, including two new shades of the fashionable, must-have ShatterRed and White. Launching in conjunction with the French Open, Glam Slam! France celebrates with two duo-packs for four unbeatable looks.

The first Lacquer set includes Spark de Triomphe (a monumentally marvelous silver glitter), paired with White Shatter. Once applied over completely dried Nail Lacquer, Shatter begins to crackle, leaving behind a two-texture pattern on each nail. The second Lacquer set features Rally Pretty Pink (rise to the occasion with this shimmering sunset-pink), paired with Red Shatter.

“We are very excited to continue working with tennis superstar Serena Williams to launch the next Glam Slam! shades,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “France is a country with a rich history in fashion and setting trends. These four new color options are ideal for showcasing your own personal style, à la Serena, whether worn alone or overlaid with Shatter for instant nail art.”

“Whether I’m on or off the court, style is important,” explains Serena Williams. “In addition to watching the runways for the latest trends, I think it’s important to add my own unique elements. With the new White and Red Shatter, I can customize my nails for a high-fashion take on the classically elegant silver and sunset shades in the Glam Slam! France collection.”

Serena Williams has received the World Number One in singles ranking by the Women’s Tennis Association on five separate occasions, along with being listed as sixth on the all-time greatest champions list. Additionally, she has won two Olympic gold medals in women’s doubles and has earned 27 Grand Slam titles to date. Serena is the most recent player to have held all four Grand Slam singles titles simultaneously and only the fifth woman in history to do so.

New shades in the Glam Slam! collection will be introduced to coincide with each of the four major tournaments, beginning with the Australian Open in January 2011, followed by launches in May 2011 for the French Open, June 2011 for Wimbledon and August 2011 for the US Open. As with all OPI Nail Lacquers, the Glam Slam! collection contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and each includes OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

Glam Slam! France will be available beginning May 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $14.95 ($20.95 CAN) suggested retail for each duo-pack.

I was not really so impressed with the last Serena Williams shade, Simply Smashing. It looked cool with the Black Shatter on top (but then, what doesn't), but I just don't like that limey green type of color.

The Glam Slam! shades, however, have me on the edge of my seat. Which, I imagine, is how Serena Williams likes to keep people.

Now WHERE are some more Katy Perry's?!

OPI Blue Hued Shatters Press Release

OPI Launches Bestselling Shatter Coat in
Three Blue-Hued Shades

OPI expands its Shatter line with the addition of three new trendsetting shades: Blue, Navy and Turquoise. With nautical hues of cobalt, indigo and sapphire, these blues provide the perfect look for summer nails in one simple step. Inspired by graffiti art, Shatter leaves behind a crackled, two-texture finish when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.

Black Shatter was received with great fanfare, showing that women are looking for new ways to express themselves and are excited to try different textures on their nails,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “By adding a variety of colors to the line, there are more options for every woman, whether she is looking for a funky aquamarine or elegant deep blue. Unlike traditional nail art which can be complicated and difficult to replicate, Shatter is easy to use and allows everyone to experiment with this new trend.”

In addition to the original Black Shatter, the line also features the Shatter coat in White, Red and Silver. All Shatter retail displays now feature Quick Response (QR) code, a two-dimensional barcode readable by smart phones and mobile phones with cameras and Internet capability. A quick scan of the display’s QR code will directly link to a demonstrational video – making application foolproof.

All Shatter products contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

Blue Shatter, Navy Shatter, and Turquoise Shatter will be available beginning May 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Shatter coat.

My lemming list is ALL... because I'm a addicted to the Crackalacque ;) Except the Black Shatter, since that one is already in my stash. How long do you think the Shatter/Crackle trend will last?

No joke, I want ALL of these! I'm a sucker for pinks, especially on the toes. The names remind me of the Spring 2011 Finger Paints names.... luckily the colors are different!

OPI Touring America Press Release

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.

“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”

The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel. Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

I'm a little late to the game in these OPI Press Releases, but what do you guys think? I'm actually REALLY excited about this one! I love where Suzi got her inspiration... I'm a big fan of travel!

On my list of lemmings for OPI Touring America is My Address is Hollywood (I freaking LOVE the name), Get in the Expresso Lane, I Eat Mainely Lobster, and Are We There Yet?

Obviously I'm always into those Coral shades... there are a lot of gray descriptions and taupe in there... I'll have to wait to see swatches to make my final shopping list... but I'm definately excited! Are you??

What's In Your Closet?

I am having SO much fun reading the giveaway entries! One that was really interesting to me was someone who wanted to see my wardrobe. I was like... well that's different... and it sounds FUN! And you get to learn a little more about me in the process ;)

So here's your warning. I'm a stay at home mom. I literally do nothing but play with kids ALL DAY and during nap breaks and lunch I can blog or check emails. This means the BULK of my wardrobe is yoga pants, Victoria's Secret PINK sweats... Velour outfits (yes, I said velour)... hoodies... you'll see. Basically, if you're here looking for some hot threads, this probably is not the place you want to be lol I probably need Tim Gunn to come in here and overhaul me stat. He was just at a local mall this past weekend... dang. SHOULD have kidnapped him!

After living in this house for 7 years we finally were able to add on to our house this year. It's been a LONG process. I updated a bit on the blog but never added the final pics. Up until the addition my kids were sharing a room, which caused a huge lack of sleep had by me. My blog was pretty sporadic back then. Basically I was always too tired or lazy to post, so it's been nice to be able to get some sleep and pick this back up.

Our most recent finish was our walk in closet. FINALLY, the space I require. Too bad I had to split it with the hubbs. I don't have all of my shoes moved in yet... still trying to figure out what to do with all of them, since I really only ever wear my UGGS (of which I have a ridiculous amount).

This first shot is of my jewelry case, 2 pairs of boots (one UGG, one Bearpaw), and my most recent addition to the purse family... a Coach bag (yes, another one).

Yes, those ARE 2 Beanie Babies you see there! My Grandma (may she RIP) was a HUGE (no seriously... HUGE) beanie baby collector. I have 2 gigantic totes full of them that she left me. I wanted to remember her but did not want to have them take over my house lol I chose two - a butterfly that is just so pretty, and the Princess Diana remembrance bear that she way overpaid for when these were at the height of their popularity.

Here we have my favorite pair of UGGs and perhaps the most fashionable pair of shoes that I own. The UGG Lynnea. They are SO comfy. I can walk the entire mall all day in these things and my feet never cry out once. I'm NEVER in heels, so if I say these bad boys are comfy, then they are COMFY.

Every true Pittsburgher owns at least ONE (or two or three....) Steeler jersey. I have a Hines Ward and a Big Ben, they're both HUGE but I feel like wearing the big mens jersey makes it more authentic lol

A few samples of my Victoria's Secret PINK collection lol (YAY they have NFL teams now, so I can get my Steeler gear AND my Pitt Panthers gear in one of my favorite brands!)

Obviously, I'm a PITT fan! I was a University of Pittsburgh Golden Girl (click the link if you don't know lol cause it's not the TV show!) during my freshman year and was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. My Golden Girl Alumni hoodie is my favorite and the most comfortable one I own. Yes it has matching yoga pants. Not kidding ;)

That's pretty much my stuffs. I have drawers full of yoga pants and t-shirts... PJs (jiggies, as my kids say)... even more boring than this... if it's possible ;) I like to dress up jeans and a black or white shirt with a fun scarf. I buy scarves all the time... especially from Coach or New York and Company. I throw most of my $$$$ into makeup, nail polish, purses and UGGS. LOL

What is your favorite item in your closet?

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

Always have trouble getting those lower lashes, or those hard to reach mini lashes in the inner and outer corners of your eyes? Clinique just solved your problem.

The Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is meant for those teeny weeny lashes so you can coat them up and make them stand out. The mini size of the tube will throw you off a bit but there will be more than enough to get you through. I haven't used all of mine up yet (I've only tried it 4 times) but I imagine it will last at least as long as your tube of mascara will.

Here I'm wearing Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (in Black) with MAC False Lashes Mascara on the top:

I am ALSO wearing Wet N Wild Coloricon Eye Shadow Trio in Silent Treatment ;)

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is only $10 and you can pick it up at Clinique counters or at places like Sephora.

Wet N Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Trio - Silent Treatment

The Wet N Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Trio in Silent Treatment (335) is even better than my first Trio post of Knock On Wood.

The pigment of Silent Treatment is AMAZING. No fall out. Super blendable. It lasts and lasts with Urban Decay Primer Potion... I have nothing negative to say about the wearability of this product! They are super soft, which may be why this one was cracked. I'm SAD it was cracked, but hey, a dollar off the already low price of $2.99 works for me!

Silent Treatment is perfect for smokey eyes and turning the eyes from day wear into night wear. The shades of a peachy highlight, taupe lid color, and a dark brown with peach sparkles crease color are so easy and blendable a monkey could do it. (wouldn't that be cool lol)

I would most DEFINATELY buy this again. I'm more impressed with this product than any other eye shadow product I own. Dead serious. I will definately be buying more of these. Look for them at your local drugstore (Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens... etc).

I did take some FOTD pics with this, which I will post later today or tomorrow. We're headed out to a benefit thing tonight so I had to do my eyes up anyway ;)

Le Metier de Beaute Magic Lustre Creme Trial

A little over a week ago I posted a review of Le Metier de Beaute Magic Lustre Creme. This stuff turns all your powders into highly pigmented bursts of color that you can wear anywhere.... eyes, lips, cheeks... what have you.

I adore this product, and, as you can see from the swatches in the post linked above, it really works!

However, I had some wear issues on the eyes. It stayed on like a dream on the cheeks, felt great, easy to blend. On the lips it came up a little bit patchy, and it's uber sticky. So for those of you who think MAC lipglasses are too sticky, this is more so. For this trial I used the LMdB Splendid Frost Kaleidoscope for eyes, cheeks AND lips! (certainly makes the $95 price tag of Splendid Frost seem a lot more manageable, when you can use it for so many things!)

On the eyes it faded in the crease. I even let it go a bit before I opened my eyes to make sure it dried. It creased lightly almost immediately and after 4 hours this was the result:

as you can see, cheeks stayed on great... lips - not at all. I did not use UDPP under the Magic Lustre Creme for this pic, however it still gave the same results when I did try it that way. I took the above 2 pics with no touch ups. Look how great the cheeks stayed on!

I still think Le Metier de Beaute Magic Lustre Creme is worth the money ($24). It easily transforms your powders and enhances the pigment. You do not have to use much so the little tub that you do get should last you a good long while.

As I'm sure most of you have heard by now, Elizabeth Taylor died today at the age of 79. What an iconic beauty she is. I say IS because Liz Taylor as an icon will never die. A talent like that always lives on.

I wanted to do a FOTD to give a bloggy shout out to this legend.

Finger Paints Nail Color - Dahlia My Number

Last week I got my #1 Finger Paints lemming! Dahlia My Number is just as gorgeous in real life as it is in all the swatches you've been drooling over.

My only gripe is that it didn't come with a blingy ring like Aren't You Glad-iolous..... I got them at 2 different Sally Beauty Supply, so maybe that's the reason.

2 coats of Dahlia My Number & Seche Vite FDTC

Can you imagine how HOT this will be on toes for Spring/Summer?!

Finger Paints Nail Color
are available at Sally Beauty Supply for $4.99 each.

L'Oreal The One Sweep Eye Shadow 309 Playful for Green Eyes

It looks like an easy way to give your eyes a tri-color look! No blending required! But is it as easy as it seems?

L'Oreal The One Sweep Eye Shadow claims to "provide fool proof results every time". I do not 100% agree with that. On my first attempt I ended up getting this on my left eye REALLY well... the right eye it all smushed together looking less than glam. As with anything, this product will require practice.

Here are product pics, swatch pics, and eye pics. The eye pic ended up being my best attempt (I really wish I would have taken a pic of my first good eye attempt..ugh), though it still remains uneven and I would not go out in public like this.

The shades are gorgeous, they play well together... obviously I don't have green eyes but the shades suited me. I wasn't impressed with the pigment, or the application of this product. It could definately could stand to be better before given the description of "fool proof".

Maybe it's just the Playful Green Eyes that work like this? Musings of a Muse also did a review on this item and didn't have any luck with it either, but did with the Playful for All Eyes.

I'm usually impressed with L'Oreal, so I think I'll try this product again, perhaps with something darker that would show off more pigment and perhaps go on a bit smoother. I'll keep you updated ;)

You can go to L'Oreal's website for step-by-step instructions on how to use this product.

Prices vary. I picked up two (one to play with and one for the giveaway) when they were buy 1 get 1 half off at Rite-Aid. Look for coupons in your ads and specials at places like Ulta or your local Drugstores.

PS - if you have purchased this product, what were your experiences... and if you got it to work PLEASE share your tips!

EDIT - YouTube Review from emilynoel83 - really great review!! Thank you for pointing it out, TrailerHood Chic!!
