Dior SMOKY KHAKI 3 Couleurs Smoky Eye Shadow Palette Swatches, Review and EOTD

This past month Dior has released a new addition to their line of eye shadow palettes - the 3 Couleurs Smoky Eye Shadow Palette. I was on the fence about what to get in terms of the shades, because I really didn't want another neutral palette. Luckily I don't have a ton of Khaki, but it's still full of shades I could wear daily. Smoky Khaki it is!

From the Sephora Website:
3 Couleurs Smoky Ready-To-Wear Smoky Eyes Palette
What it is:
An eye shadow duo and eye shadow base in an innovative sliding palette.

What it does:
This three-color eye shadow harmony helps you create catwalk smoky eyes in three easy steps. The slide-out palette features an extremely blendable base that perfectly preps and colors the eyelid, while the eye shadows offer different effects: matte for a natural ready-to-wear style or shiny for a glamorous, couture style.

Size: 0.19 oz

The Dior Smoky Khaki Ready-To-Wear Smoky Eyes Palette is nothing short of phenomenal. I was a little worried that the shades would be chalky, but the pigment is SO deep and smooth. It blends like a dream and is super easy to smoke out. There are several ways to wear these 3 shades, and any way you try they compliment each other perfectly.

I love how the case slides open and pops up to reveal a mirror, brushes and the 3 shades. The shades are listed as "dark khaki/ sparkling khaki/ soft golden khaki". The dark khaki doesn't really have a shimmer... there is no barrier between that shade and the sparkling khaki, so some of that migrated over. Even though there seems to be a lot of sparkle in the sparkling khaki it isn't over powering. It's a lot more dense than you'd think. I expected it to barely show up because the shimmer LOOKED grainy, however it is not. The golden shade is like butter and is awesome when used as a base or as an inner corner splash of light color.

For the eye look above I used the top left shade (dark khaki - soft smoky) in the crease, the right shade (sparkling khaki - couture smoky) on the lid, and the bottom shade (soft golden khaki - base) as a pop in the inner corner and to blend out above the crease shade. Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Stash was used to line the eyes, and UDPP was used to prep the eyes. The mascara is Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara in So Black.

I wish so badly there was a Purple Smoky set, but since there isn't I'm resigned to checking these out in person, because I definitely want at least one more.

The Dior 3 Couleurs Smoky Eye Shadow Palette retails for $48 and is available at Sephora, as well as Dior counters nationwide.

Love it! I'm not usually a fan of Dior eyeshadows though. I love this as a smokey colour combo.

I really want one of these palettes. I love the idea of it being 3 eyeshadows, because on a typical day my eye looks are comprised of 3 colors. I'm sort of leaning towards the smoky nude because it seems to be comprised of slightly cooler colors though. This looks wonderful on you though.

By the way, I must say that your blog is quickly becoming one of my top favorites. You're always reviewing things that I'm lemming and your reviews are great. Thank you!
