With the Fall 2011 release of the MAC Semi-Precious Collection, we're introduced to 4 brand new MSF's. I have 3 of them to show you - Rose Quartz, Goldstone, and Pearl. I passed on Crystal Pink, because it just seemed too much like a highlighter, which I rarely (if ever) use.
Semi-Precious Rose Quartz is described on the MAC Website as Base: Rosy Pink. Innercircle: Silver, Lime, White pink, Copper. The description is spot on. In person, Rose Quartz is so Barbie. And when I say Barbie, I don't mean that it boasts abnormal *ahem* assets, but that it's a fun pink. It's glittery, bubblegummy, and I think I heard pop music playing in the background as I swatched this. I'm obsessed with the base color by itself, and the innercircle adds a nice pop of highlight. REALLY hot on a tan.
Semi-Precious Goldstone is described on the MAC Website as Base: Brown. Innercircle: Rosy Pink, White, Gold. Pretty accurate, but there is a bit of peach in there as well. I actually thought Goldstone would be a bit more pigmented. I don't know why, but I expected it to be pretty dark. I'm sure it can be built up, but it was a bit more shimmery than I anticipated. It does give off a really nice glow.
Semi-Precious Pearl is described on the MAC Website as Base: Beige Champagne. Innercircle: White, Plum, Bronze. Add in a little bit of Gold and you have the perfect description. At first look, I thought I would hate Pearl. It just didn't look like it would show up and plus... it kind of grossed me out a little bit. Pearl is my FAVORITE out of the three MSF's that I picked up. The base and innercircle mixed together give off the perfect Bronze Rose glow. When I swatched her my socks got knocked off and I landed flat on my butt. Love.
While none of these, in my opinion, will reach the cult status of such MSF's as Stereo Rose and Pleasureflush, they are some really pretty "gems" and it wouldn't hurt to pick up at least one.
The Semi-Precious Mineralize Skinfinish retail for $28.00 and are limited edition. Rose Quartz is currently sold out on the MAC website (Pearl and Goldstone are still available), but you can still pick it up at your local MAC store or counter, or online at Nordstrom.com - while supplies last. Call ahead to check on availability.

Ooh - I was only thinking this week I should get a new MAC MSF. Pearl looks really good!
If I have to choose one, which I'll force myself to do, I'm kind of torn between Rose Quartz and Goldstone.. They're all SO pretty though!
