Stila STUNNING IN SAYULITA Collectible Beach Palette No.1 Swatches & Review

Up until now I've had absolutely NO Stila products in my stash. I've tried Stila in the past, and have not been happy with the results. My cousin LOVES, lives and breathes the brand. It's all about preference, I guess.

On my last trip to Ulta I was perusing around the makeup area and saw some new Stila Palettes. I fell hard for the Stunning in Sayulita Beach Palette No.1. The shades are totally me, and at $14 for four eye shadows and two blushes... well, you can't beat it.

From the Sephora website:
What it is:
A collection of four Stila eye shadows, cheek color and bronzer in a chic, mirrored palette complete with a "how-to" face chart.

What it does:
Inspired by the natural beauty of Sayulita, a picturesque fishing village and popular surfing destination, this palette contains everything you need to create a beautiful look in minutes. It contains four flattering eye shadows, Playa cheek color, and Banderas Bay Highlighter/Bronzer to deliver a sun-kissed, back-from-the-beach glow.

This set contains:
- 4 x 0.15 oz Eye Shadows in Starfish (pink champagne shimmer), Sandbar (dark brown shimmer), Getaway (dusty mauve shimmer), Palm Trees (leaf green shimmer)
- 0.11 oz Cheek Color in Playa (warm pink)
- 0.11 oz Highlighter/Bronzer in Banderas Bay (sheer neutral pink sheen)

I really loved how the shades complimented each other with this set. So often you get palettes that have eye shadows SO off from each other, color wise, that you can't use them all together. The shadows had nice pigment and were easy to blend together. You do need to watch, though, as these shades mixed TOO much can muck up a bit.

The blush is a beautiful color, though not as pigmented as I would like. The highlighter is very nice as well. I found both cheek shades to be chalkier than blushes from, say, Chanel, or even MAC. They had no problem applying or staying on.

With this palette, you can throw it in your bag and quickly touch up. It's great for keeping in your purse, in a desk at work, or for travel.

I've found my first Stila keeper ;)

The Stila Stunning in Sayulita Beach Palette No.1 retails for $14. I purchased mine at Ulta, but you can also pick it up at Stila.com, Sephora or sephora.com.

It looks super pretty but I've been a little hesitant about all of the Stila value palettes. I've heard mixed reviews on some of the other ones that came out earlier this year and towards the end of last year. I guess I just keep thinking they are TOO good to be true.

I'm really surprised by how much I like these colors. Like you, I have had little experience with Stila (I've just used the lip glosses), but I may have to give them a second look now. :)
