MAC Bloggers' Obsessions HOCUS POCUS & JEALOUSY WAKES Eye Shadow Swatches & Comparisons

If you haven't heard by now, MAC did something AWESOME. They tapped a large group of bloggers to submit ideas for an eyeshadow or a lipglass. From those, 9 were chosen, and the MAC Bloggers' Obsessions Collection was born. I was a little disappointed that MAC chose to do lipglass instead of lipstick. But since this collection seems to have gone off extremely well maybe they'll do a full blown collection next time. I'd LOVE to see some blogger inspired lipsticks!

From this collection I picked up 2 eye shadows. Hocus Pocus - which was created by The Makeup Girl, and Jealousy Wakes - which was created by Temptalia. Check out the Press Release for more information.

Are you dying yet??? How beautiful are these shades???? I thought I would have something similar to both in my stash, but I was WRONG.

Below are comparisons to some shadows I have in my current collection. I don't have a HUGE collection. But I was almost positive that I had something similar to Hocus Pocus (Satin), since that is the type of color I'll go after 100% of the time.

When it came to Jealousy Wakes (Veluxe Pearl) I was convinced it was going to be like Le Metier de Beaute Eyeshadow in Jade. I was so off that it's embarrassing. I had also heard that people weren't going for it because it looked to be a MAC Surf USA dupe. Well... I got some bad news for you if you skipped on Jealousy Wakes because you thought it looked like Surf USA... Check it:

I'm so in love with these that I'm extremely disappointed I didn't pick up the other 2 shades. Especially since I did a CP for someone who bought all 4 shadows and Sparkle, Neely, Sparkle as well as Parisian Skies are both freaking to die for in person. Screw it, I'm doing another order now. My Semi-Precious list will have to suffer unless DH is feeling particularly generous!

No surprise, BOTH Hocus Pocus AND Jealousy Wakes have already sold out on the maccosmetics.com website (I ordered mine Monday evening and just got them today). The Bloggers' Obsessions Collection is exclusive to the website and is US & Canada only. Hopefully, they'll do a second run of these shadows, since they're extremely sought after and I know the international beauties would like a chance to grab them up!
