Mythical is described on the official press release as a Frosty Coppery Red (Veluxe Pearl). I am biased toward any shade of eye shadow that has a Veluxe Pearl finish. Normally I am less than pleased with how orangish shades show up on me, but Mythical is just the right blend of rust, red, orange, and a hint of light brown that make it work. Because of it's finish, Mythical is easy to pat on the eye and blend.
Satin Taupe is described as a taupe with silver shimmer (Frost). This is part of the permanent collection. The one that I have photographed is a Pro Pan that I had previously. Satin Taupe has always been my HG Taupe shade and I've gone through quite a few of them over the years. If you've been a MAC fan for even longer than a year you know that Satin Taupe gets released at least once every 12 months or so but always remains permanent. For awhile there it was coming out with seemingly every collection, but thankfully that slowed down. I like to get new shades in my palettes with fun names ;) Satin Taupe definitely belongs in the Basics of MAC Me Over. It is a shade that everyone needs in their makeup collection. It gets an A+ across the board in all categories, time and again.
I'm really excited for this whole collection. It's a biggie (51 pieces!), but it's all so nice and wearable. I'm a sucker for Fall launches ;) There is A LOT on my list - Peachstock lippie, Illicit lipglass, both quads, 3 fluidlines, Fatigues np, Stunner blush, a backup of the always awesome 226 brush, and 2 eyeshadows. That money tree can start growing anytime now!
MAC Eye Shadows retail for $15.00 and will release on August 25, 2011 with the MAC Me Over Collection.

Satin Taupe is a lovely universal shade for sure! I contemplated getting Mythical but i don't think those peachy tones would look great on me.. I love my browns! Mulch is my fav MAC shadow!
