Not gonna lie... I'm a little disappointed. The best thing as far as I can tell in this whole box is the hair tie... and even then I'm a little disenchanted.. Did I set myself up for disappointment? Probably. It was my first time, and I did expect to be blown away by awesomeness. A few other bloggers posted their Birchbox and they got some sort of hair serum, which I would have LOVED to try.
I may or may not review the products I received. I thought signing up for Birchbox would be a great way to branch myself out of my comfort zone and try new things... but as of today I'm not too happy. At this point it's likely I won't continue my subscription. I could get over it and change my mind... there's time.
I really do think the concept is great, and it's always fun to earn free things. It's got its faults. For the first time you always expect the best. There is a beauty profile you fill out when you sign up, so they do try their best to send out things you may like. Perhaps I need to tweek mine.

I got the same box as you and it was also my first month getting Birch Box. While the products this month were not stuff that I will probably buy full samples of, I definitely am going to keep my subscription at least for a while, to see what else I get.
Also, this box's stuff equals about $18 dollars if you divide the sample size by the prices of the full size products, so at least there is some value in it...though more useful products would have been better.
try it one more month... alot of people aren't too keen on this month.
I actually love Blinc mascara, but I can see why you'd be a little disappointed. Good review.
Err.. I won't be very happy with this box..:( Glad I didn't ordered it, as I was thinking it won't be great after few months..
There are about three versions of this month's box, mine should arrive any day and I'm wondering which version I'll have. I think they're all disappointments from last month.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I forget where I read about Birchbox and thought I might want to try it. $10 seemed like a better way to spend money trying new product samples than buying full sized products. But then I started thinking how on earth would they meet the demand with so many people signing up? How long before it ends up being a box of stuff I wouldn't use?
Guess I'll keep watching to see if it's worth investing in. As a product reviewer I don't have $$ to waste on product I can't review. ;)
This is my 4th month and definitely my least favorite assortment. Give it one more month, I'm still more than happy with what I've gotten so far!!!
I've actually heard a lot of mixed reviews on these, and this month in particular I've seen a lot of disappointment expressed. I haven't jumped on this yet, something keeps holding me back.
I got this box too, but I do like the mascara. I'm disappointed with this box and I seriously am considering discontinuing my membership as well.
