The MAC box was full of the newest releases from the MAC Me Over collection. I already reviewed a few products earlier, but once the collection officially launched of course I needed to get my hands on more!
For this post I'll be showing photos, swatches and doing a review of 3 of the lipglasses - Illicit, Social Light, and Curvaceous. I already reviewed Plum Fun, which you can right click HERE to open a new window and view.
Illicit is described on the MAC website as a "creamy neutral pink". I have no idea where that comes from. This is a creamy peach. It leans warm. It's a beautiful shade, and this compliments my skin tone (NW25) well. This is a repromote I believe from Smoke Signals and I loved it even then. This is one of the few, maybe the only, lipglass I've ever used up and been able to put towards a Back 2 MAC. I used it THAT much. It does sink in to your lip lines a bit, but once this is over a lippie it will not be as noticeable.
Social Light is described on the MAC website as a "neutral pink with pearl". This is a much better description. If you enlarge the swatch you can see the multi-color shimmer in this one. It'll be great over a pink or purple tinged lippie. I'm actually going to try this over Peachstock as well and see what happens. If it's worth sharing I'll post it with the lipstick post.
Curvaceous is described on the MAC website as a "light grey pink". The description is actually what kept me from almost not getting this lipglass. Grey scares me. I really don't understand the term when it comes to a lip product (feel free to enlighten me in the comments) but I don't WANT my lips to appear greyish at all. Luckily, this just shows up on my lips as a pretty pink. It does have a lilac base to it, which you can see more on the arm swatch. It's a very neutral pink, though it does lean more toward cool.
Lately I've noticed that the MAC lipglasses are less sticky. They are still stickier than those from Le Metier de Beaute, but not as much as they've been in years past. Wouldn't it be nice to remove the stick all together. Ahhh.. dreams.
MAC Lipglass retail for $14.50 each and are available at MACcosmetics.com as well as at MAC freestanding stores and counters. The ones reviewed in this post from the Fall 2011 MAC Me Over Collection are Limited Edition and currently available as of their release on August 25.
