MAC Endless Night Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review - Daphne Guinness

Daphne Guinness for MAC brings us three new polish shades - Blueblood, Hyperion, and Endless Night (today's post).  The three colors look great together in a set, but are far apart in the color spectrum to have at least one of them tickle your fancy.  I checked out all three of these in person yesterday, and Endless Night was the only one of the three that seemed unique to me.  Blueblood is GORGEOUS, but I'm pretty sure we all have that vampy burgundy creme in our stash (I love to wear a shade like this on my toes in the Winter!).  Hyperion was originally on my list, but in person it didn't wow me and I've heard the formula isn't too great.

What the MAC Website has to say about Daphne Guinness Nail Lacquer:
Revolutionary new high gloss formula. Three long-wearing finishes - Cream, Sheer, and Frosted. Visibly different. Provides no-streak/no-chip finish. Contains conditioners and UV protection. Go hi-lacquer!10 ml / 0.34 US fl oz

Endless Night (pale grey pink with iridescent pearl, creme) is a greige toned nude with subtle pink iridescence.  The pink is much more apparent in the bottle than on the nail.  The above swatches are three coats.  I felt that I needed three because after two coats it still seemed sheer and uneven.  Once it hits three coats it evens out more and is almost opaque.  Tip - I've found, if you do 3 thin coats, and wait for each coat to dry for a few minutes in between, it will look less clumpy than if you do two thick coats!

I love it when shimmers prevail, so this is a fun twist on what would have been just your basic, boring nude.  Of course I'd love it if the polish would show off the pink iridescence MORE (who wouldn't?!) but as you can see from the photos, as you move your hand around the light and different angles will show off the flair.  I would have liked to have photographed this outdoors in sunlight without a flash, but the wonky Pittsburgh weather decided to give us snow and grey skies.

MAC Nail Lacquer retails for $15.00 and is currently available for purchase at maccosmetics.com or your local MAC Counters and Stores.  Endless Night is limited edition to the Daphne Guinness December 26, 2011 release.  To view the official press release, click here.

It does seem similar! I don't own it, but it's on my wishlist. Next time I do an order I'll pick it up!

Here is a swatch of Cruisin Nude from one of my fave bloggers (she does awesome nail art!) - the cruisin nude pink flash is more subtle than MAC Endless Night http://www.kaylashevonne.com/2012/01/nails-of-day-cult-nails-cruisin-nude.html
