Caviar
Gold
(Caviar, Gold)
Caviar/Gold (deep black brown/ metallic gold) is perfection in every way imaginable. Caviar is a shade I've been searching for for a long time. I always think I find it, and it's off somehow. It's a greyed brown, dark taupe color that would probably look best with blue or green eyes, but that I think looks phenomenal with brown eyes (like mine!) as well ;) The Gold side provides a slight, festive pop of color to the darkness of Caviar, or can be worn alone if you're going for understated glam.
The formula is awesome on these. They do not budge. I wore this liner ALL day long and had a difficult time taking it off in the evening. They are incredibly soft and glide on. Watch pressing too hard, as they can break easily (I had that happen with the other one I bought) and the price point being what it is for such a small liner, you don't want to have to waste ANY of it.
Now, for contact lens wearers. These liners were highly irritating to my eyes. At first I thought it was just the Gold part since it has the shimmers in it, but even when worn alone, Caviar irritated my eyes. I like to waterline on the bottom, and these DO waterline easily, but that has to be what is causing the irritation. I have no issue with these when I only use the liner on top. If you don't wear contacts, you probably won't have a problem. As soon as I pop my contacts out and put my glasses on, all is well.
Unfortunately, the Bobbi Brown Dual Ended Eye Liners are limited edition. They retail for $24 each, which is steep considering you don't get much product. You can pick them up at Sephora, or your local Bobbi Brown counter at department stores such as Nordstom and Neiman Marcus.
My wish? The company makes these perm, lowers the price, and makes them more contact lens wearer friendly =( I love them SO much but can't justify the price because of the irritation factor.
Have you tried these new liners from Bobbi Brown? What do you think? Have they irritated your eyes at all? Any tips?
