Bare Escentuals THE PLAYLIST bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 Swatches, Review, and EOTD

I had such an awesome experience with my first Bare Escentuals bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow in The Scenic Route that  I took the plunge and purchased the large palette with 8 coordinating shades.

What Sephora.com has to say about bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 -  The Playlist:

What it is:
A versatile palette featuring eight pure, intense, provocative shades.

What it does:
Powered by bareMinerals' proprietary SeaNutritive Mineral™ Complex, these party-going shades deliver gorgeous looks, endless options, and seriously impressive antiaging benefits for a softer, smoother, revitalized eye area. It looks like a powder, but applies like a cream and delivers beautifully smooth, vivid, long-wearing color plus incredible skin-renewing benefits.

This set contains:
- 8 x 0.035 oz Eyeshadow in Pumped (cocoa sparkle), Chart Topper (pewter silk), Max Volume (smoky jade), Louder (burnished copper), One Hit Wonder (butter chiffon), Most Requested (burgundy sparkle), Remix (burnished gold), Speaker Box (shimmering gunmetal)

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

What else you need to know:
These formulas do not contain binders, fillers, or harsh chemicals. BareMinerals Ready™ is an innovative new concept in solid mineral technology. Created through a unique cold-pressed method, this formula combines SeaNutritive Mineral Complex, composed of positively charged sea minerals with powerful antioxidants, cold-pressed borage oil, caffeine, and cucumber. The non-drying formula is clinically proven to deliver potent antiaging benefits, such as reducing puffiness, for a softer, smoother, revitalized eye area.

Pumped, Chart Topper, Max Volume, Louder

One Hit Wonder, Most Requested, Remix, Speaker Box

The Playlist offers a nice and neutral (with a pop of bold) set of 8 shadows that lean warm.  Each has a nice pigment and is very easy to apply and blend.  I experienced little fall out when using this palette, the most being with Speaker Box, though it was still minimal.  All of the shades are swatched above using one finger swipe and no primer.

The packaging is really pretty, the gold reminds me of the Dolce & Gabbana packaging.  I dislike that it gets messy and fingerprinted VERY easily.

For this EOTD I used UDPP and the following shades from The Playlist - Chart Topper on the lid, Pumped in the crease, One Hit Wonder in the inner corners and to highlight, and Speaker Box in the outer V and to deepen the crease.  I used MAC Black Karat Kohl Power as a liner and Benefit They're Real! Mascara.

While swatching and playing around with this palette I thought it resembled a few other products.  In my head they were closer dupes than when I swatched them together.

The first comparison is four of the shades in The Playlist (Pumped, Chart Topper, Remix, and Speaker Box) to Chanel Topkapi.

BE The Playlist on top, Chanel Topkapi on the bottom

The Playlist shades and Chanel Topkapi aren't total dupes, there are slight differences to each shade.  However you could still create the same basic eye look from both.  The BE palette is much cheaper with the same high quality and with a much wider availability than Topkapi had.

The second dupe is two of the shades in The Playlist (Chart Topper and Max Volume) vs. NARS Rajathstan.

Nars Rajathstan is swatched in the middle above, from The Playlist - Chart Topper on the left, Max Volume on the right.

Definitely very different.  Max Volume is obviously much more pigmented and green than the right side of NARS Rajasthan.  Just... not even close.

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 retails for $40 and is available at Sephora and Ulta.  The Playlist is Limited Edition.

The case is super cute! I haven't tried any of their eyeshadows but their loose mineral eyeshadows are nice :)

Lovely comparison swatches! I just got this palette a week or two ago and really love it. My initial hesitation was that I had the Rasjasthan Duo from NARS and not comparing side by side I thought they were similar. Obviously way off! Thanks dear! :)
