Le Metier de Beaute Magic Lustre Creme literally IS magical.
First off, I much thanks to @ohhDaniel and @MetierBeaute on TWITTER for opening my eyes to this product. Last week the LMdB tweeter posted about the Magic Lustre Creme... my interest was piqued... so I bought. Story of my life ;)
I did a lot of playing around with this product. I wanted to check the longevity of it, mostly to see if it lived up to the hype.
The first thing you'll notice about the Magic Lustre Cream pot is that it's small. However, once you use it you'll see you don't need that much and it should last you quite awhile. You just dab your finger in the pot, then dab where you need it. Simple!!
From the Bergdorf Goodman website:
"A luxurious, cream glaze enriched with vitamin E, Magic Lustre Creme transforms any powder pigment into sheer stains and glosses for the cheeks, lips, or eyes.
•Paraben Free
•Talc Free
•Hypoallergenic
Much like a modern alchemy, Magic Lustre Creme can create a metamorphous range of possibilities through the medium of powder shadows and blushes. Ordinary shadow can become eyeliner, cheek color, or even a lip-stain. For the more traditional, tap some of the creme on your cheeks or eyes to add a natural dewy glow to the skin, or gloss to the eye."
First, the packaging!
LMdB packaging is uber classy and efficient. I think for this item, though, I'd rather have it in some sort of tube. I'm not a huge fan of things in pots. Here is photo proof of one of the reasons why:
**when I opened the box the Lustre Creme was oozing out of the sides of the pot. I'm not sure if it was a warehouse thing, or a weather thing... or maybe I just have some bad luck when I buy my LMdB from Nordies? It was pretty sticky there for awhile.
Swatches:
I know at least 90% of the population of makeup lovers around the world has a love of MAC Stereo Rose. Personally, I've always wanted it to be a lip gloss. LMdB MLC made that possible!
Here are arm swatches of MAC Stereo Rose - the top swatch is over LMdB Magic Lustre Creme, the bottom swatch is Stereo Rose on it's own.
DANG! Right? Holy, pigment!
Swatches of LMdB Splendid Frost Eye Kaleidoscope (top swatches are the shadow shades alone, I swatched them underneath over top of the MLC)
Retail on the
LMdB Magic Lustre Creme
is $24, which really isn't that bad. You can click the link above to purchase from Bergdorf Goodman.
My LMdB lemmings? First in line is the Marchesa Snowflake Set - who wouldn't want all of those fabulous products at their finger tips? In that beautiful case... mmmmm.... I've also heard good things about the Blushing Bronzed Duet (boooo backorder!), and of course this lipstick queenie needs to get on the wagon of LMdB lippies STAT. And who here knew they had nail polishes?! I'll just stop there.. the wishlist is extensive and I just drooled on my keyboard.
Are you a fan of anything by the Le Metier de Beaute brand? What is your favorite product and how do you use it?
Tomorrow I'll be posting a FOTD using the LMdB Magic Lustre Creme. I want to use it for my whole look - eyes, lips, cheeks.... and see how it wears throughout the day. It was NOT easy to wash off my arm, so I expect good things ;)
