Inimitable has a great looking brush. One that you'd think would separate well. On me, it did not. This mascara DID curl and lengthen well, but I think I may have heard TOO much hype and expected more than a mascara could offer. It's also sometimes hard to review a sample of a product, though in this case the actual brush part seems true to full size. I was also thinking that the samples might have sat around awhile and may not be sealed as well as a full size before you purchase and use it.
A huge plus is that this mascara didn't flake on my cheeks or flop product around during application. It also did not smudge throughout the day.
If you work with the wand, and wipe excess product off before applying, your lashes won't clump as much, but for the price point I don't really want to have to WORK at it. The swatch above is only two coats, I was afraid to go for three.
Since online reviews seem to be rather good I may try a full size in the hopes that it will work a little better (I'll compare it with this post). I think it's just hard to believe I don't love a mascara from one of my favorite brands.

Great review; I love the honesty!! Sorry to hear that this wasn't living up to the hype. :( I hate it when mascara makes my few lashes look like I have a grand total of 7 big ones on each lid.
it made me sad, because generally I adore Chanel.. they carry my HG pencil liners and foundation! I'm hoping it was an old sample or something. Definitely looking forward to getting a full size and testing that!
