Too Faced MATTE EYE SHADOW COLLECTION Swatches, Review, and Eye Looks

As I went on the hunt to find the Too Faced recently launched Spring Collection, I came up zero.  Ugh.  I really love to see things in person if I can, so I was pretty sad.  Suddenly, I noticed on the Too Faced display that they had put out a tester of the newish Matte Eye Shadow Collection and ONE palette left to actually purchase.  Hmmmm... I'm iffy with my mattes.  It's hard to find ones that are smooth enough that they don't apply super patchy.  Upon swatching in store, I was impressed (and obviously others were too since there was only the one left to buy), so I took the new Matte Eye Shadow Collection home to play with.

What Sephora has to say about the Too Faced Matte Eye Shadow Collection:
What it is:
A nine-piece collection of matte eye shadows in warm and cool tones.

What it does:
These cashmere-soft matte shadows are velvety in texture, allowing you to play with fresh, modern looks. The silky formula is easy to blend and offers gorgeous color payoff. How-to lesson cards offer step-by-step application instructions for creating modern matte eyes in minutes.

This set contains:
- 3 x 0.07 oz Eye Shadows in Tufted Suede (soft tan), Velveteen Bunny (ivory), Fresh Linen (pale pink)
- 6 x 0.03 oz Eye Shadows in Chinchilla (light warm brown), Coffee Bean (dark brown), Pebbles (gray), London Fog (deep blue), Vintage Violet (violet mauve), Midnight (charcoal gray)

(L-R: Tufted Suede, Velveteen Bunny, Fresh Linen, Chinchilla, Pebbles, Vintage Violet, Coffee Bean, London Fog, Midnight)

The Matte Eye Shadow Collection is a fabulous addition to the Too Faced line of brilliantly priced, coordinating eye shadow sets.  In this collection you will receive NINE shadows as well as three cards to help you create "the look".  The shadows in this palette are ridiculously soft and blendable for mattes and are very nicely pigmented.  I had such an easy time with application and little to no fall out, so it would be totally safe to apply after your foundation and powder.

It is really nice to see some blue shades and purple in this palette.  So often with matte palettes they'll stick to the usual creams, browns, and black... this one steps out of the box and does it well.

A huge, huge love is that this palette comes complete with the three little how-to cards that give you ideas on how to use each line.  Of course, you don't HAVE to use them this way, but it makes for a nice and easy eye that you don't have to think about.  Plus, I don't have to type out what I did for each look, because you can just read the card lol

Lets Start off with the "Day" Eye:

Liner - The liner used was the Coffee Bean shadow from this palette, since they wanted it smudged around the lash line.  It looks like you could also use a black liner to amp it up.
Mascara - Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara

Now, the Classic Eye:

Liner - Chanel Noir Le Crayon Kohl
Mascara - Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara

Finally, my personal fave, the Fashion Eye:

Liner - Bobbi Brown Caviar Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner
Mascara - Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara

The Too Faced Matte Eye Shadow Collection retails for $36.00 (a $73 value!) and is available at Sephora as well as at TooFaced.com

Speaking of Too Faced... did you enter to win the $100 gift card??  You only have until January 18th to get your entries in!!!  This one is US only, but the Giveaway tab at the top of the page has some awesome giveaways listed that are open to ALL!
