Nice Stems! by OPI Revamps Nails with Vibrant Pink Hues for Summer 2011

Stop and see the flowers with summer’s Nice Stems! by OPI, a limited edition collection featuring four new nail lacquers in stunning shades of pink. With whimsical names based on their floral inspirations, these vibrant, flirty colors range from pale, frosty pink to rich fuchsia. Nice Stems! offers fingers and toes a perfectly pink shade for all of summer’s looks.

“These vibrant, feminine hues complement 60’s ladylike fashions, 70’s glam looks, and bold color-blocking, which are the season’s staples,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The Nice Stems! collection also offers an interesting contrast and feminine accent to the punk and biker looks on the runways.”

Nice Stems! by OPI shades include:
Play the Peonies
We’d put our money on this lovely soft-pink.

Come to Poppy
Surrender to shine with this shimmering coral-pink.

Be a Dahlia Won’t You?
Give the gift of fabulous fuchsia—to yourself!

I Lily Love You
Fall head over heels with this light pink sparkle.

“Using different micas and glitters can give lacquer a 3-dimensional look,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “I Lily Love You is a glitter coat that can be layered over any of the other three shades to add a bright sparkle; or, it can be worn on its own for a subtle tint of pink with strands of glitter.”

The Nice Stems! Nail Lacquers by OPI contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

This limited edition Nice Stems! collection will be available beginning June 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Bronze Tint SPF20 Swatches & Review

With my most recent Sephora order I put in a code (I'm sorry I can't remember the code or find it! ugh!) to get a sample of Too Faced Primed & Poreless Bronze Tint SPF20.

Normally I use the makeup primer from Reviva Labs (review to come!), but I thought it would be nice to try this out, especially since it's summer and I could use a little "bronzing".

It's just a litte squeeze tube deal, so I can't really comment on the packaging. From the photo on the website it looks like the bottle is a nice size and you could get a fair amount out of it to cover what you need. With the little tube it was hard to gauge how much I'd need. I only have to use a pea sized dollop with my Reviva Labs primer, so I tried that with the TF Bronze Tint... no good. I had to use quite a bit, and work quickly, to get full and even coverage.

From the Too Faced website:
Introducing a bronze tint version of our best-selling face primer, Primed & Poreless. Formulated to prime and enhance all skin tones, our innovative new product imparts a warm glow while providing optimum sun protection. The silky formula banishes complexion imperfections as it leaves skin virtually poreless.
Bronze Booster! Apply under foundation for a richer skin tone or under bronzers to boost their overall bronzing effect.
Sun-Kissed Sexy: Our rich, golden-toned formula instantly delivers the ppearance of sun-kissed warmth to all skin tones as it protects skin from photoaging with SPF-20.
Erases Pores and Imperfections: Our lightweight, silky formula glides over skin smoothing the surface for a flawless effect.
Promotes Healthy Skin: A healthy combination of Mulberry Extract, Camellia Extract, Retinol Palmitate and Vitamin A help to lighten, brighten and tighten skin gently.

The problem with a bronzing primer, is that you HAVE to make sure you cover evenly and over your whole face. There is a lot of room for error. It's very easy to use too little or too much.

PSA - it's SUPER dark when you squeeze it out, but as you can see from the swatch, it sheers out rather well, and based off of the reviews I read on Sephora, it worked with a wide spectrum of skin tones (I am NW25 in MAC, for reference).

I don't think I'd recommend this as a primer, but I really liked how easily it spread just on my cheeks and gave a nice contoured bronzy glow. My mom commented that my face did look darker than what I normally would do. She would definitely tell me if I was uneven or looked ridiculous lol This primer is not for you if you're looking for something to quickly throw on. However I DO recommend it to give a little extra color to your cheekies.

Like I said, this review is just based off of the mini size I got. The full size bottle could be A LOT easier to get the amount of product you'd need in one squeeze.

The full size Too Faced Primed & Poreless Bronze Tint SPF20 retails for $30, and can be purchased at Sephora, as well as TooFaced.com.

Zoya Nail Polish MOD MATTES Collection - MITZI, LOLLY, PHOEBE Swatches & Review

I actually didn't have any more posts planned for today, but these just came in the mail and I'm loving them! Special thank you to A Polish Problem for holding her quickie Twitter contest!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I'm more of a neutral gal, but the Zoya Nail Polish Mod Mattes Collection has captured my heart.

This collection comes with 3 polishes - MITZI, LOLLY, and PHOEBE.

Mitzi

Mitzi w/ a top coat

Lolly

Lolly w/ a top coat

Phoebe

Phoebe w/ a top coat

All 3 of these polishes are really cool. My favorite was definitely Lolly, but it was a close run with Phoebe, especially after I added the top coats and saw the pretty shimmer that Phoebe has. Out of the 3, Mitzi had the worst consistency and likely needed a 4th coat.

My experience with any matte polish is that they chip easily. If you add the top coat, of course, that won't happen, but then it's not a matte polish anymore. I like to fix the chipping problem by doing a french mani. Just use a piece of tape, paint another color over your tips, remove tape, and VOILA... tip wear problem solved!

Zoya nail polish retails for $8. Click HERE to buy your Mod Mattes today and watch the fun video ;)
Also, follow ZOYA on Twitter and Facebook for up to date info on awesome deals and contests.

MAC Surf, Baby! Cheek Powder MY PARADISE Video

Hey, everyone!

I wanted to post a video on MAC My Paradise Cheek Powder to show how much better it is than last year's Marine Life. You can actually see the dimension of the Gold part in the video and how much thicker it is. It's NOT just an overspray, and should last through quite a few uses, especially when used sparingly!

Don't forget to subscribe ;)
