China Glaze Tronica - Mega Bite

I managed to grab a few more China Glaze Tronicas before my local Sally's completely sold out. One of them being Mega Bite. The gorgeousness of this polish literally takes my breath away. I've never liked a goldish/yellow polish before. I usually like it to have more of a deep gold tone to it. Mega Bite glides on smoothly and looks like yummy sunshine!

While not as holo as a few of the other Tronicas that I've swatched, I think Mega Bite is perfection. I'm very pleased with the formula and the color!

China Glaze Mega Bite is shown here with 3 coats of polish & SVFDTC

Wet N Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Trio - Knock On Wood

I review a lot of high end products on here, mostly because I'm a brand whore and that's just what I go for. Lately I've been wanting to bring you more affordable drugstore brands as well so that I can cover as many different brands as I can as well as show you that drugstore can be just as good (if not better) as designer.

When I would think of the brand Wet N Wild I thought of cheapo makeup that you would give to your child when they started wanting to be "adult" and wear makeup. Lately I've been noticing this brand really coming into their own. You're hearing more about them and their products are becoming more competitive while still staying true to their awesome price point.

Today I bring you the Wet N Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Trio in Knock On Wood (383B). I haven't seen these too much. I don't think they're limited edition (don't quote me on that) but they seem to sell out lightning fast.

Knock On Wood is a gorgeous trio of shades (pink, burnished khaki/brown, burgandy). I really loved it on my brown eyes, but I really think this would look awesome with blue or green eyes as well.

The pigment was pretty nice, I was extremely impressed. I used the shades over Urban Decay Sin Primer Potion and they stayed on all day with no creasing. The middle crease shade DID fade a bit, but was still visible. I used the burgandy shade on my lash line and blended up over top of MAC Raven Kohl Power. I had NO fall out upon application. Which makes it pretty awesome, IMO, because more often than not high end brands give me fall out. These obviously aren't as pigmented, but they give you what you need in a good way.

I always see Wet N Wild products broken... (see left palette in the pic way above) ... I don't know if they're extremely delicate or shoppers just don't care when they smash stuff. I really loved the shattered trio above, so I bought it anyway. I figured for $2.99 who cares lol Everyone knows I love the taupes! More on that later, though .. hehe

The Wet N Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Trio's are extremely affordable at $2.99 a pop. Who can beat it?

On my wishlist? Don't Steal My Thunder, Walking On Eggshells, and Sweet As Candy. Though, because the price is so low, it's likely I'll buy them all.

Have you tried the WNW shadows? What are your thoughts?

Nubar Reclaim - Happy St. Patricks Day!

I've swatched Nubar Reclaim before... Interestingly enough, the photos look totally different!

Since everyone else is doing it, I did a St. Patty's Day Mani. I don't have a lick of Irish in me (everyone loves an Italian girl!), but I can celebrate green just the same!

I don't own many green polishes... I actually think I have maybe 2 or 3 still in my drawer .... but this one has always been my steady fav!

Shown here with 3 coats and a SV FDTC

Nubar polishes retail for $7.49 each and you can find them at bynubar.com.

Follow Nubar on Twitter HERE. Sometimes they post some awesome deals on retail orders!

I did this NOTD awhile ago, it's from the Orly FX collection. Sorry I didn't get it up sooner, I was just going through photos and realized this was never posted.

3 coats of OHC and SV Fast Dry Top Coat

This is a really great color. The whole FX collection was pretty awesome. I did a few other swatch posts with it, if you check out the search engine and type in Orly FX they should come up ;) I'm lazy today lol

Orly Halley's Comet is available through the
Amazon Marketplace

and is only $7.99! (regular retail on these was $10 when they came out). Happy shopping!

Le Metier de Beaute Magic Lustre Creme

(please click swatch pics to enlarge)

Le Metier de Beaute Magic Lustre Creme literally IS magical.

First off, I much thanks to @ohhDaniel and @MetierBeaute on TWITTER for opening my eyes to this product. Last week the LMdB tweeter posted about the Magic Lustre Creme... my interest was piqued... so I bought. Story of my life ;)

I did a lot of playing around with this product. I wanted to check the longevity of it, mostly to see if it lived up to the hype.

The first thing you'll notice about the Magic Lustre Cream pot is that it's small. However, once you use it you'll see you don't need that much and it should last you quite awhile. You just dab your finger in the pot, then dab where you need it. Simple!!

From the Bergdorf Goodman website:
"A luxurious, cream glaze enriched with vitamin E, Magic Lustre Creme transforms any powder pigment into sheer stains and glosses for the cheeks, lips, or eyes.
•Paraben Free
•Talc Free
•Hypoallergenic
Much like a modern alchemy, Magic Lustre Creme can create a metamorphous range of possibilities through the medium of powder shadows and blushes. Ordinary shadow can become eyeliner, cheek color, or even a lip-stain. For the more traditional, tap some of the creme on your cheeks or eyes to add a natural dewy glow to the skin, or gloss to the eye."

First, the packaging!

LMdB packaging is uber classy and efficient. I think for this item, though, I'd rather have it in some sort of tube. I'm not a huge fan of things in pots. Here is photo proof of one of the reasons why:

**when I opened the box the Lustre Creme was oozing out of the sides of the pot. I'm not sure if it was a warehouse thing, or a weather thing... or maybe I just have some bad luck when I buy my LMdB from Nordies? It was pretty sticky there for awhile.

Swatches:
I know at least 90% of the population of makeup lovers around the world has a love of MAC Stereo Rose. Personally, I've always wanted it to be a lip gloss. LMdB MLC made that possible!
Here are arm swatches of MAC Stereo Rose - the top swatch is over LMdB Magic Lustre Creme, the bottom swatch is Stereo Rose on it's own.

DANG! Right? Holy, pigment!

Swatches of LMdB Splendid Frost Eye Kaleidoscope (top swatches are the shadow shades alone, I swatched them underneath over top of the MLC)

Retail on the
LMdB Magic Lustre Creme

is $24, which really isn't that bad. You can click the link above to purchase from Bergdorf Goodman.

My LMdB lemmings? First in line is the Marchesa Snowflake Set - who wouldn't want all of those fabulous products at their finger tips? In that beautiful case... mmmmm.... I've also heard good things about the Blushing Bronzed Duet (boooo backorder!), and of course this lipstick queenie needs to get on the wagon of LMdB lippies STAT. And who here knew they had nail polishes?! I'll just stop there.. the wishlist is extensive and I just drooled on my keyboard.

Are you a fan of anything by the Le Metier de Beaute brand? What is your favorite product and how do you use it?

Tomorrow I'll be posting a FOTD using the LMdB Magic Lustre Creme. I want to use it for my whole look - eyes, lips, cheeks.... and see how it wears throughout the day. It was NOT easy to wash off my arm, so I expect good things ;)
