L'Oreal WATCHFUL OWLS GAZE 215 Pressed Eyeshadow Quad Swatches, Review and EOTD- Project Runway

FINALLY. I have been looking for the L'Oreal Project Runway Collection since I've heard about it. Yesterday I sucked it up, dropped my son off at school and went on a hunt. 6 stores. By the 5th store my 2 year old daughter said "Let's Do This" haha. I found the Project Runway Collection at a Walgreens. YAY!

I'm a huge Project Runway Fan, and out of all of the drugstore brands out there, L'Oreal is my fave. It's the perfect pairing. With the huge history between L'Oreal and Project Runway I'm actually shocked it hasn't happened sooner!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy everything I wanted (which was almost all of the Quads, blushes, and some of the lippies and polishes). The display was pretty empty, but the Walgreens employee in the beauty section had the extras hidden behind the counter. I got to pick through the little basket and find the quad I wanted along with another nail polish. All together I walked away with the quad and 2 polishes. For this post I'll be featuring the Pressed Eyeshadow Quad in 215 - Watchful Owl's Gaze.

Below are 2 sets of swatches at different angles. They look more pigmented at one way than another, and I couldn't decide which one would be better to post, so you get both of them!

I love, love, love The Watchful Owl's Gaze (retail $8.99)! The pigment is SO nice, especially on the gold. The darker blackened brown shade was a little dry, but rather easy to work with. The four shades pair nicely together.

PLUS - it's not a TOTAL dupe or anything, but if you missed out on last years Dior Five Golds 5-Colour this is close, and may kill your lemming for the more expensive and now discontinued product!

I did do an EOTD with this quad, just my own concoction of where I wanted the colors to go, but L'Oreal actually has tutorials on their YouTube account of Collier Strong applying the Product Runway line to models.

My look is a little more metallic, so I want to try out Collier Strong's creation because it looks more smokey and blended. For now, here is what I came up with:
As usual, to start off, I used Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base for the shadow. I took the bottom left shade and applied it to the crease. I was worried about how the bottom right shade (the dry dark brown) would blend, so I wanted to give it something to grab on to. I then took the top left shade (gold) and applied it all over the lid. Taking the bottom right shade I applied it into the crease and outer V (though you can't see the outer V color so much because that gold kind of sucked it in). I used the top right shade to blend out the crease and highlight. Dior Eyeliner in Trinidad Black was used to line the eyes, and Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara was used to finish off the look.

I have 2 of the nail polishes here as well to swatch and review. One will go up today and we'll see the other one tomorrow ;) Happy Friday!

This is so exciting. I love project runway, but I'm not sure if these colors will work for me. I'll have to find some promos and see if there's a more suitable palette for me.

Your pictures show the shimmery aspect that doesn't come through on merchant sites and were really helpful. Lovely colors, but they wouldn't work on me. Thanks for saving me the time and money of tracking this down. :)
