Shapercise Body Shaper Review & Photos

Recently I won a blog giveaway over at Overall Beauty for the new Shapercise Body Shaper. This could not have happened at a better time, since I'm in a wedding in JUNE and can't seem to lose the gut!

You can read all about the Body Shaper on the Shapercise website - but for this blog, I want to tell you about my experience with it.

(click pics to enlarge to read info)

Personally, I love this product. Before this I was using Teez-Her tanks that I got at Macy's. It's basically a tank top that just sucks in your gut. I'm a mom with a bad metabolism, therefore I need things like that. I know I'm not alone, and I'm not embarrassed about it.

When Overall Beauty announced this contest I was all over it. It's seriously the best and most needed thing I've ever won. I wore these on Saturday to a family party. Hubbers cousin was turning 18, and at least if these things were uncomfortable I could go take them off and no one would care lol

They are SUPER comfortable. It's got built in underwear (yes, I'm talking to you about underwear) but I wore underwear underneath them. You put them on like you would panty hose and just inch them up. They didn't roll down and I didn't have to worry about an extra tank peeking through. I DO wish they would have went up a bit higher on my rump (hehe) but all in all they were super comfy. You could feel them on, but it's not inconvenient to your wardrobe or any activity. Obviously I can't report on the toning or calorie burning aspect yet, but I could feel how it could work for that purpose.

Once these are available for sale on the website I plan on purchasing another pair. I got the high waisted and will stick with that, since it covers and sucks in my most needed of areas... mah tummy. I see they have a black shade on the website, so I'm hoping they're available for sale SOON so I can add to my soon to be collection of these things.

I'm not sure what these retail for, as they aren't available for sale on the website yet, but I'll be sure to keep you all updated so when you can shop online you're aware!!

***This product was received free in a giveaway, but the review is honest and neither the company nor Overall Beauty asked me to post a review on this item. I did so simply because I loved the product and wanted to share my experience. =)

NARS Sin / Casino Blush Duo Review & Swatches

The NARS Sin/Casino Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo is one of three duo's offered at Sephora, along with Orgasm/Laguna and Hungry Heart. The colors of Sin/Casino (berry with gold shimmer/ dark brown with golden shimmer) are absolutely GORGEOUS, which was what attracted me to this duo in the first place.

Sadly they are way too dark for me =( (I'm MAC NW25) - but the pigment and staying power is right on par with all other NARS blushes. My mom was given Dolce Vita blush as part of her Christmas gift and she said it was BETTER than Chanel. So there you have it. The tribe has spoken.

Please excuse the NARS reflection on the blush/bronzer.. tho it does look kind of cool lol

I grabbed this one because we all know how I feel about Orgasm, though Laguna probably would have been a better bronzer for me. These duos are available at Sephora.com for $38-$39 plus tax USD.

MAC 6 Beauties Play It Cool Eye Shadow Palette Review & Swatches

The 6 Beauties Play It Cool Eye Shadow Palette released with the Holiday 2010 Tartan Tale collection. It is my FAVORITE of the 4 palettes. Purples, of course, are awesome, but the upper 3 colors of the palette are so gorgeous, unique (upper middle one!), and awesome to work with.

The 6 colors in this palette are Silverwear (F), Hold My Gaze (F), To The Ball (S), Altered State (VP), Magic Moor (VP), and Heather Belles (S). It also comes with a 213SE but, I'll say it again, PLEASE replace that with a mini 239. Seriously.

Beauties Play It Cool retails for $36 USD plus tax, but is sold out on the MAC Website. If you want to purchase this you could try your local MAC counters or stores, or at other online department stores. It'll probably be hitting your local CCO within the next few months as well, so keep your eyes peeled for it there to score a sweet discount.

PS - This is my 200th post! YAY! ;) Don't forget to enter my MAC Cosmetics GIVEAWAY and tell all of your peeps ;)

Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow - 034 Gris-Gris Review & Swatches

New for Spring 2011 Dior has launched the "Spring Look Haute Couture" 5-Colour Eyeshadow palette in Gris-Gris. Gray colors have been my "thang" lately so I jumped on it.

The texture, pigment, and beauty of this palette is all classic Dior. The shadows are all very easy to work with and are blendable. But the shades are all very dupeable and I just don't think it's anything special =( If you don't have Irredescent gray shadows, you should be all over this. If you have a lot of grays and silvers in your collection, you can pass.

Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Gris-Gris can be purchased at Nordstrom.com for $58 USD.

Sunday Photo Dump - Volume One

Today I realized that I have a couple random pics on my file that I had meant to post on here, but now I can't remember what they were for, what they are.... plus more. Since I can't remember enough for full posts every once in awhile I'm going to randomly do a "Sunday Photo Dump". It'll clear some space in my folder and will give you something fun to look at ;)

First up! Pretty Chanel holiday packaging! Over the holidays Chanel.com gift wrapped all of their orders for FREE! This was a nice, big, festive box full of goodness ;)

MARCEL!!! It's François NARS' doggie poo Marcel. He looks totally fab ;) The pic is the best and it's totally getting framed and going up in my closet. This was the note included when they sent over the NARS Everlasting Love palette.

Didded up my eyeballs with the Chanel Stupendous Quad... too bad I don't remember what anything else is .... lol

And that's all for this Sunday Dump!!! See ya next time ;)

Chanel Pearl Drop Le Vernis Nail Colour Swatches & Review

If MAC White Gold pigment had a nail polish baby, I'd like to think this would be it.

Chanel Pearl Drop is from the Spring 2011 Collection. It leans toward being sheer, so for the swatches below I used 3 coats. It looks a bit clumpy with the 3 coats, so it might be wiser to paint your nails 2 coats of white and top it off with one coat of this.

I think it's a pretty sweet color, and unlike anything in my collection. It's going to look REALLY hot with a tan.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colours retail for $23 USD at Chanel.com and at finer department stores.

Benefit CORALista Blush Review & Swatches

Benefit CORALista is a gorgeous peachy pink blush. It's my first Benefit blush, and I'm mighty impressed. It's soft and really brightens up your face. Personally, I use it over a darker blush or lightly as a highlighter. It doesn't really show up well alone on my cheeks. The included brush sort of baffles me... I've heard it's not nice to use with the product, so I didn't try it.

Benefit CORALista retails for $28 USD at Sephora.com

Zoya Intimate Collection Spoon Swatches

With my recent Zoya order I was greeted with a surprise! Spoons showing off their Spring 2011 Intimate Collection!!

From L-R
Marley, Dove, Caitlin, Dannii, Jules, Gemma

I can't wait to get these shades on my nails! Look how AWESOME Gemma is (click pic to enlarge)! Lemmings, lemmings, lemmings!

Zoya polishes retail for $7 USD and you can get them from Zoya.com.

MAC 6 Reelers & Rockers Eye Shadow Palette Review & Swatches

This is a really cool palette. I feel bad that I'm just now getting around to doing a review and some swatches of it. Rarely do I like the holiday palettes that MAC puts out. Sure, they're ALWAYS pretty.. but the shades are always similar or the SAME as the year before... it's just nothing special.

This time I was pretty pleased with the holiday palettes. Released with Holiday 2010 A Tartan Tale, the Reelers & Rockers is metallic and has 6 shadows - White Rabbit, Melt My Heart, Carbon, Family Treasure, Gaelic Gold, and Crown & Sceptre. My main reason for grabbing up this palette was for Gaelic Gold and Crown & Sceptre. SO pigmented and pretty. I'm a Steelers fan (of course!) and this is my go to palette when I'm rocking my Steelers gear.

My biggest gripe?? STOP putting the damn 213 brush in the palettes! Make a mini 239, for goodness sake!! It's more universal and works better with every shade!

Reelers & Rockers retails for $36 USD plus tax and is still available on the MAC Website. Personally, I'm surprised this one didn't sell out right away. It's just that good. It'll probably be hitting your local CCO within the next few months as well, so keep your eyes peeled for it there to score a sweet discount.

Avon Cool Bliss Eyeshadow - Sparkling Plum Review & Swatches

AVON CALLINGGGGGG

lol... totally reminds me of the mom in Edward Scissorhands.

(here's the trailer, in case you haven't seen it or forgot! It's right in the beginning)

My sis in law is my Avon rep (I'm not gonna lie, I'm a brand whore and don't really order the Avon). She's not like the lady above, she basically just sells to family and friends and rep's so she can get the discount herself. Over the holidays, at one of our million family parties, she brought her Avon books and these awesome shadows that are sort of like MAC Paint Pots. They're in flatter and smaller packaging, and have a cool, wet feel to them. They glide on like shadow and are to make any shadow, or liner that you put on top of it stay put. Like MAC Paint Pots, I need to apply UDPP underneath this as well.
Actually, in terms of comparison, they're similar to the new MAC Mega Metal shadows as well.

These are SUPER cute and at $5 a pop who can beat it?? Currently they come in 4 shades - the Sparkling Plum, Frothy Mocha, Pebble Stone, and Exquisite Blue. I have 2 more on order. These items are in the Avon Outlet, so it's while supplies last. Get your hands on them while you can by ordering online or contacting your local Avon rep!

butter London All Hail The Queen Nail Polish Review & Swatches

My first butter London! You know I'm so smart (sarcasm) that when I'd hear of butter London on the MUA boards I would think "damn thats a pretty polish, too bad it's only in London" =\

I was HAPPY to realize I could grab up some butter London's at Nordstrom!! The brand is "3 free" - From the Nordies site:
"What is 3 Free? butter LONDON is a 3 Free company: no formaldehyde, no toluene, no DBP (dibutyl phthalate). This luxury nail lacquer is high-fashion, heavily pigmented and safe. butter LONDON believes in rock 'n' roll. Great Britain. And Fashion."

On to the polish. I'm not a fan of the actual base color... the lighter taupe gets lost on my skin tone. I think it looks a little weird on me. The shimmer dust in it is GORGEOUS, though. The brush isn't my favorite, but it went on smoothly and easily. The polish dried nicely, though was a bit patchy even after 3 coats. I don't regret the purchase at ALL, but I do wish I'd have went with a different color. I jumped on All Hail because I'd been lemming it for awhile after I'd seen the initial swatches. It's listed as a holo, and you can see that better if you click the pic to enlarge.... I've also read that it's other name is "All Hail McQueen" as a tribute to Alexander McQueen.

It's my first butter London, but definately won't be my last. On my wishlist? Victoriana, Aston, and Rosie Lee!

Dior 5 Colour Eyeshadow - 001 Five Golds Review & Swatches

Oh what I had to go through to get this palette.... Bloomingdales would keep getting it back in stock, then it would be out of stock and I'd get cancellation. Finally, in a "duh" moment I check sephora.com and there it was lol

This isn't just one of my favorite 5 Colour's from Dior, its one of my favorite palettes of all time. I love the metallics, of course, especially the bronzes, but that lower left side Gold... it's WET looking without actually being wet... like I have a light liquid gold on my lids. It reminds me of magic. That sounds so bizarre.. but it's SO unique. You can actually see in the pictures how it looks wet.

The Dior Five Golds "Gold Edition" 5 Colour is Limited Edition and retails for $58 USD plus tax and sold out fast and furious. If you can get it, do it.

Award Time!!!

Hey, everyone!

Yesterday TWO amazing ladies granted me with blog awards!!!

First up we have Polish Insomniac - who passed on the Beautiful Blogger Award to me. She has an AWESOME blog so be sure to check her out and give her a follow and a shout out!

To pass on the Beautiful Blogger Award I tag the following blogs:
~ Tracey (US) @ GingerKitty Designs
~ Emma (UK) @ Birds Decorate Branches
~ Emily (US) @ Wife Check Mom Check Now What

My second award comes from Tracey at GingerKitty Designs. Tracey makes AWESOME jewelry made from NAIL POLISH. Her creations are ALL one of a kind, hand made, and to die for! Be sure to check out her Etsy store!

This award is the Stylish Blogger Award.

The rules:
1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award. Done above!!
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!

Seven Things:
1. I go blank every time I have to think of 7 things to post about myself lol
2. I love jewelry from Tiffany. It's an obsession when I get the catalog to pick one thing from each page that I would get if I won the lottery.
3. I'm determined to have NO lemmings. Which for me means buying everything that I'm lemming at the time which is expensive and will eventually be my demise.
4. I have a slight OCD issue and am constantly organizing random papers, drawers, toys, cabinets... you name it. Everything in this house is color coordinated and alphabetized.
5. I absolutely HATE cigarettes. I used to smoke YEARS ago and now that I don't it grosses me out more than anything in the world. Especially the smell of stale smoke. People who smoke think if they go outside to do it then no one can tell... trust me... a non-smoker can smell you coming a MILE away.
6. I recently got a 3 drawer organizer for my makeup and it's not big enough. =\
7. This wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!

15 blogs.... well that's a lot.... so I leave you with a couple lol

Dior Addict Lip Glow Review & Photos

My most favorite and coveted item in my slew of makeup is the Dior Addict Lip Glow. What the Lip Glow does is gives you a customized color result. It reacts directly to your lips to bring out the natural pigment (meaning this will look different for everyone!) and makes your lips look full, vibrant, and fresh. When I use this it makes my lips a lush berry color. Basically, it's going to work for everyone's skin tone.

In the pic below, the left side is the one I totally used up as of yesterday. I'm proud of this because I rarely use up a whole product (other than mascara, powder... those things). I guess I should say I never use up a whole LIP product lol The one on the right is the brand new one I busted out as a replacement. (always have a back up of your HG's!)

I don't have any swatches of this, because on my actual skin it's clear. Which I LOVE because I can apply this quickly on the go for color on my lips, but don't have to worry about finding a mirror to apply. With kids, the less you have to worry about the better.

The Dior Addict Lip Glow retails for $28 and is available at sephora.com as well as other fine retailers.

Zoya Cheryl Nail Polish Review & Swatches

Zoya Cheryl (from the Wicked Collection) is one of the polishes I got in my Zoya January 3 free along with Tiffany and Edyta (backordered).

I'm totally floored. When I got the bottle I'm like... of course, another sparkly burgandy to add to my 500 other sparkly burgany polishes. (I tend to gravatage toward the same colors)...

This one is actually TOTALLY different than any that I have or any that I've sold or given away. It's stunning, and I can't stop staring at it! I actually did a full on mani with this, and I can't remember the last time I've done that, much less at 1130pm.

I miss manicures. I've been totally lazy lately and just sort of swatching every new polish I get. Sometimes to post on here.. sometimes just to check out the color... then it gets put away with all the rest.

I really need to keep up with it and let my nails get a little stronger and longer. I've been pretty good with the cuticle cream (POSH) the past few days. My New Years rezzie is to keep up with the nails!!!

Zoya's retail for $7 plus tax on the zoya.com site. They also have an awesome spoon program (sounds dirty... tee hee!). They sent me some spoons of the new Intimate collection and the Flame collection with my order, so I'll be taking pics of those hopefully this weekend to post. I'll also get Edyta on here as soon as it arrives.

MAC Spectacle Of Yourself Mega Metal Shadow Review & Swatches

I won't bore you with a repeat of what I wrote about Prance ;) But MAC Spectacle Of Yourself (SOY) Mega Metal Shadow is my favorite of the bunch.

SOY is described on the MAC site as a deep bronze.

The Mega Metal Shadows retail for $19.50 USD plus tax. They are Limited Edition.

MAC Prance Mega Metal Shadow Review & Swatches

Sometimes MAC surprises me. Remember the Metal-X shadows and how horrible they were? Creasing messes of mess.

They've reformulated, listened to everyones whining ;) and made the Metal shadows better! I'm completely impressed. They definately still need something underneath, like UDPP or NARS Primer... whatever you use. But they are SO vibrant, gorgeous and smooth. They're thick, vibrant, and blendable. They feel wet to the touch but it's totally a powder shadow. Perfection.

From the MAC site:
"A colour-rich, light-reflecting gleam combined with a creamy application that invites blending, layering, shaping, while remaining crease-resistant. A brilliant choice for all those seeking the ultimate metallic finish."

I purchased Prance, Spectacle Of Yourself and Dalliance. Dalliance is on the way, but today I have the other two to show you. This post will feature Prance, and I'll do Spectacle Of Yourself seperately.

Prance is described on the MAC site as a Frosted Mauve Pearl.

The Mega Metal Shadows ARE limited edition (boo), and retail for $19.50 USD plus tax.

FOTD ~ NARS Everlasting Love Palette

Whew! I haven't done a FOTD since Halloween!!!!!

The NARS Everlasting Love palette is total love. The shadows were exactly what I was looking for, and South Beach Multiple.. while very faint on my cheeks, makes Orgasm work for me. I've used the Chelsea Girl Laquer (included in the palette) twice and I'm already seeing the bottom in the middle =\ Granted, I'm using my finger instead of a lipbrush... but there really isn't a whole lot of the lip stuffs. For ME that's fine, because I'm not down with that anyway (as you can see in my swatch post of this palette), but for someone expecting a lot of lip product... you won't get it here.

For this look I used:
~ L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
~ MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer NW25
~ MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation NW25
~ Lancome Dual Finish Powder Matte Bisque II
~ Dior DiorShow Brow Styler
~ MAC Brow Set - Clear
~ MAC False Lashes Mascara
~ NARS Underworld (I) all over lid, Underworld (II) in crease and outer V, and Edie to highlight. Night Breed to line.
~ Dior Trinidad Black Waterproof Crayon Eye Liner (for the bottom waterline)
~ NARS South Beach Multiple, NARS Orgasm Blush
~ NARS Chelsea Girls Lacquer

Close up of the eyes:

Zoya Tiffany Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Earlier this month Zoya had their 3 free polish promotion. You got to pick out 3 of their nail polishes for FREE and only pay the $6.95 shipping and handling charge. WOWZA... heck of a deal!

The three I picked were Edyta, Tiffany, and Cheryl. 3 of my long time lemmings! Edyta is backordered =( so it isn't in my possession yet, but at least the other two came! AND I have Tiffany here to swatch for you!

It's a gorgeous pinkie peach shade... lots of glitter... pictures don't do it justice.. it's seriously so beautiful. In the pic above I used 3 coats. I usually use 3 coats, but for this polish I truly felt that 3 coats were necessary for coverage. Zoya's always have nice staying power, and this one was not hard to remove at all. I used pure acetone though, and I know a lot of people don't want to get on board with that ;)

Zoya polishes retail for $7 plus tax.

NARS Everlasting Love 15th Anniversary Palette Review & Swatches

For their 15th Anniversary (which I believe was in 2009) NARS released a new palette named Everlasting Love.

Description from the website:
"The NARS 15 Year Anniversary Palette, Everlasting Love, delivers an elegant look that focuses on dramatic, smoky shades for the eye. Pearl sheen, silver, blue slate, a sparkling black pair up with a subtle glow for the cheeks and soft, neutral lips. The specialized logo treatment on the compact celebrates 15 years of modern, iconic beauty.

Contains: Eyes: Eyeshadow in Edie, Underworld (I), Underworld (II), Night Breed. Cheeks: Blush in Orgasm, the Multiple in South Beach. Lips: Lipstick in Belle de Jour, Promiscuous, Dolce Vita, Lip Lacquer in Chelsea Girls."

Packaging Pics:

I love the outer red box (did I mention red is my favorite color?) and I find it a nice change from their basic black. The exterior of the palette itself is the usual black, rubbery compact with the red NARS logo and the number 15. I love the red logo. Red red red. I'd love to see some fun color things like this on their future LE palettes. The back simply states what is in the palette.

Eyes:

I've had my eye on the Underworld Duo for quite some time. I've been looking for the perfect gray/blue color to use on my brown eyes. If I go too blue it leans toward 80's slam dancer. As with all NARS shadows they are buttery smooth and it was quite easy to pick up the pigment to swatch on my arm. I can't wait to try this on my eyes using Night Breed as a liner!

Cheeks:

(top to bottom - Orgasm, Orgasm over top of South Beach Multiple, and South Beach Multiple alone)

I'm not a fan of Orgasm. It's a "universal shade" but I just don't like it on me. I don't know if it's maybe too pink? I don't know, people love it and it's always the winner in every magazine makeup pick. With South Beach Multiple... however... LOVE. It brings out the peachy in the Orgasm and makes it work on my skin tone. YAY! I actually love the multiple in palette form. I've tried it in the stick form and wasn't a fan at ALL, but the palette feels creamier to me and easier to control.

Lips:

Chelsea Girls (second down) is now my new staple. WOW does THAT live up to the hype or WHAT?! Love it. The rest are pretty sheer for a palette. Normally, when I would buy a NARS lippie in the tube, it would have this horrible plasticky smell. It's not the case when them in the palette, so I find that pleasent. I'm not a lip palette girl. My OCD prevents me from enjoying using the lip items in a palette because of the mess and my constant need to clean it up. However, I am positive Chelsea Girl is worth it and I fully intend to use every last drop of it.

This palette is still available on NARScosmetics.com for a retail price of $75 plus tax. Jump on it, if you want it... this item is not listed as available anymore at places like Nordstrom and Saks.

** I need to mention that this palette was sent to me free from the NARScosmetics.com offices in New York. I'm unsure why, as I don't get free products from companies, everything on here is stuff I buy myself or birthday/xmas gifts. Even though this was a free item, my review is completely honest. If it's awesome, I'll tell you. If it sucks, I'll definately make sure you know that. I put a call in to customer service to see if this was something sent to customers of the site who spent a certain dollar amount or what is going on. I will update this as soon as I get a response.
